About Our Church
Davis Mountains Community Church is a non-denominational fellowship of believers who hold fast to the truth that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second Person of the Trinity. We believe He was born of a virgin, died for our sins by being crucified on the cross, buried for three days, and raised to life again. He ascended into Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of God the Father.

Though we are a small church in the mountains of West Texas, our reach is worldwide. God has allowed us to touch lives across the globe, including persecuted Christian refugees in nations where following Christ is dangerous or deadly. We believe in prayer and believe in healing, and have witnessed miracles with our own eyes. We know that God is not limited by our size or resources. He is the miracle-working God who specializes in doing the impossible.

Dress Code & Travel Notes

At Davis Mountains Community Church, we are casual and welcoming. You are free to dress up or down, and most of our congregation comes in jeans and t-shirts or whatever feels comfortable.

Because we are located in the high desert, we encourage you to dress for the weather:

  • Summer: Warm to hot during the day, but it usually cools quickly after sunset.

  • Winter: Mild days in the 40s–60s, with nights often dropping near or below freezing.

  • Monsoon Season (July–September): Sudden daily rain showers are common.

  • Occasional Snow: Winters may bring light snow.

  • Sun Protection: At a mile high or higher, the sun is intense year-round. Hats, sunscreen, and water are wise choices.

Getting Here

Our church is located off the main highway (Hwy 17), about 6 miles into the community on unpaved, maintained but rough and steep roads. While a car can make the trip in good weather, a high-clearance vehicle or 4-wheel drive is best. We don’t recommend low-clearance vehicles or those with very small tires.

Other things to know:

  • Cell Service: Spotty to non-existent once you leave the highway.

  • Wildlife: Drive slowly and watch for animals on the road, including feral donkeys.

  • Weather Caution: If it has been raining heavily or snowing, it may be safer to join us online instead of attempting the drive.

The good news is that if you do run into trouble, neighbors in our community are usually quick to lend a hand. So take it slow, enjoy the scenery, and know you’ll be welcomed warmly when you arrive.
